UGI is seeking a Sr. Manager of Corporate Communications with a dedicated focus supporting the communications strategy for UGI's AmeriGas business. This role will serve as part of the AmeriGas' leadership team, with a reporting structure into UGI Corp's VP of Corporate Communications.

The incumbent in this role will create compelling messages that engage and inspire employees to support business objectives and strategy in the spirit of our company culture and employer brand. This role will support business transformation efforts, lead the strategy, and content development for business wide forums to deliver key messages to the business from the leadership team.

Essential Functions
  • Develop an AmeriGas internal communications strategy and collaborate in the execution of the transformation plan.
  • Execute the communications strategy for the business that aligns to business objectives and company culture; adjusts the strategy in response to or anticipation of changing business needs/conditions; and properly aligns to various audiences.
  • Function as a cultural change agent, positioning communications as the voice of the organization. Help stakeholders accept and embrace change in the business environment.
  • Execute change management strategies for key initiatives and align communication programs to support those goals while minimizing associate resistance and maximizing engagement and adoption.
  • Proactively counsel and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on importance of frequent, open communication and inserts associate communication considerations into planning of all major company initiatives, events, and announcements.
  • Responsible for company-wide communications calendar to ensure alignment across senior leadership, functional areas, and all levels of the field organization.
  • Responsible for creating, developing, and implementing a wide range of conventional and creative internal marketing tactics utilizing various new and existing tools for maximum impact (intranet, internal news articles, internal social media, business alerts, announcements, manager talking points newsletters, video, etc.).
  • Prepare surveys and reports that evaluate the effectiveness of communication messaging and channels, and act based on the outcomes of those efforts.
  • Work cross-functionally in order to bring unity and alignment to all messages while considering the varied audiences.
  • Use metrics to gauge results, define success, and support continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, integrity, sound judgment and decision-making ability; creativity and out-of-the-box thinking are a must.
  • Excellent editing, proofreading, and composition skills required; skilled at identifying requirements, key messages, key stakeholders, and developing an approach to effectively share information
  • Ability to understand the current business environment and be able to craft compelling messages that concisely and effectively deliver relevant content
  • Understands digital platforms and social media
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence all levels of team members ranging from individual contributors to executives
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Requires 7+ years of progressive communications experience with related responsibilities, preferably in a corporate retail or otherwise dispersed workforce environment where associates do not have regular access to computers.
  • Prior experience managing a professional team is a plus.
