Job Description:
This position provides the functional management responsibilities for a high performing group of Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems engineering personnel as a part of the Advanced Aperture Solutions group. The Advanced Aperture Solutions group is responsible for the design and development of high-gain antenna systems for military airborne and ground vehicles. This position will be responsible for personnel management and career development in a matrix organization and should have a strong desire to help others succeed. The successful candidate will plan, develop, and coordinate employee training and professional development requirements. This role will perform management activities for employees in the group, including performance reviews, career development, resource allocation, and recognition. This position is crucial to the development and continuous improvement of engineering processes applicable to the department. This position will also be responsible for leading multiple small programs in the capacity as the Project Engineer to ensure technical requirements are met or exceeded. Lastly, this position is critical developing, mentoring, and growing the individual members of the technical team to meet the future needs of the individual, the business, and our Nation.
The Advanced Aperture Solutions (AAS) group is quick reaction capability (QRC) aperture solutions business based in Rockwall, TX. We have a long heritage of developing large-aperture, high-gain, multi-beam, and steerable arrays for many diverse reconnaissance platforms, some flying on ISR aircraft for more than 30 years. Our team has State-of-the-art design tools validated with real hardware prototypes including CST Design Studio Antenna Modeling Software, PADS Circuit Board design software, MATLAB software, SolidWorks software, and a PC board mill that produces multiple same-day iterations of antenna designs. We ultimately provide critical ISR capabilities to fight and win in the SIGINT operating environment.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for helping develop and champion department standards, best practices and processes for the Engineering organization, enforcing its application, and capturing and codifying tacit knowledge
- Support small programs as Project Engineer to included schedule and performance metrics and tracking
- Drive collection and analysis of metrics related to project performance, along with associated process improvements
- Works closely with program leadership to assign individuals who will perform detailed tasks on each program
- Responsible for manpower forecasting, employee hiring, training, career development planning, and any disciplinary activities
- Write and deliver performance reviews to staff
- Helps manage departmental project and overhead budgets
- Develops the technical competence in staff to close skill gaps and to achieve satisfactory succession planning
- Supports proposal activities, including development and validation of bases of estimates
- Meets company specified goals flowed down from executive management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in electrical engineering, Systems Engineering, or other related degree with (12) twelve years of hardware engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- 5+ years of management and direct leadership experience
- Engineering leadership experience, with Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Systems Engineering experience
- Experience in proposal development and preparing defendable Basis of Estimates (BOE)
- Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to travel up to 10%

- Active DoD security clearance
- Defense industry leadership experience
- A decisive leader and change agent who will defend their decision
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills
