This role is based out of our corporate HQ located in downtown Chicago and will be a hybrid in-person role. This role will be partnering closely with our manufacturing plants and may require onsite visits.

The Senior Manager, Material Planning oversees the strategic management of material procurement and inventory processes to ensure optimal supply chain efficiency. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, analyzing inventory data, and leading a team to forecast material needs and mitigate supply chain risks, all while aligning with organizational goals and budget constraints.

Ways you will make a difference

  • Develop and implement material planning strategies to meet production schedules and inventory targets.
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels to balance supply with demand, reducing excess and shortages.
  • Lead a team of material planners, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate terms, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast material requirements and adjust planning accordingly.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material planning and inventory management.
  • Identify and address potential supply chain risks, including disruptions and delays.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align material planning with broader business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand material needs and priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all material planning activities.

Experiences that will support your success

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of experience with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Ability to use current SAP system to drive decision making
