Prime Air is seeking an experienced Sr Manager to own and drive Program Management for the organization. This role leads a team of dynamic and productive Program Managers that support every facet of drone system development and delivering to customers. This role requires excellent leadership skills to build trust and drive alignment with stakeholders and leadership. The desired candidate will have a background in driving programs from 0 to 1 to scale, have demonstrated experience in senior program management roles for large-scale development and/or operational efforts, and be able to operate in ambiguous and technically complex spaces.
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the management, implementation, and delivery of cross-functional programs in a new business area.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities, and surface insights to management to improve the health of the business.
- Navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios, applying creative problem-solving skills.
- Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance including managing a team of BI experts to support all of Prime Air
- Evaluate and prioritize programs in conjunction with customer needs and technical team inputs.
- Communicate updates clearly and effectively to stakeholders and leadership with exceptional written and verbal communication. Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
- Manage a team of Program Managers from entry level through senior roles
A day in the life
As the Sr Manager of Program Management, you will play a pivotal role in building and executing the system and mechanisms that enable customers to use 1-hour drone delivery. You will have regular communication with Prime Air Senior Leadership and will have opportunities to shape how and where the program scales. This role will have a direct impact on Prime Air's goal of delivering 500 million packages per year by the end of the decade.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Seattle, WA, USA
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of team management experience
- 10+ years of program or project management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in creating and using integrated scheduling tools for highly complex systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- MBA

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
