Position Summary:

The Systems, Test, and Support (STS) Senior Manager is a senior management position, whose primary mission consists of the development, integration, test, support, and continuous improvement of bioMérieux products. This person would have a strong development background with experience leading a team of internal staff and external contractors.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Establish relationships with other key departments involved in development, support and project activities, to ensure relevant experts are involved in ad-hoc transversal teams and development of system interfaces. Drive the execution of the Systems, Test, and Support team with supportive communication.
  • Manage investigations linked to system level complaints and integration problems and define impacts of resulting system changes after launch.
  • Manage the team in their efforts to verify and validate systems as well as to support, maintain and continually improve the products.
  • Support the development of new marketable products and technologies by organizing, assigning responsibilities, implementing priorities and coordinating STS activities by means of project plans reviews and their follow-up. Accountable for STS resource management and development of people, mentors key individuals, assuring the integrity of the performance management process and individual development/training plans; may also recommend salary evolutions.
  • Acts as an arbitrator between conflicting objectives.
  • Creates procedures in accordance to department/project/program needs and provides guidance to project teams and methods/tools teams as requested on the topic of system verification, integration, and support.


Position Requirements:
  • Experience with designing and testing complex systems.
  • Experience with leading technical teams.
  • Ability to lead and direct others in a technical environment, and collaboratively work with members across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to lead and influence in a matrix organization.
  • Strong planning and leadership skills, with proven ability to meet business objectives.
  • First-hand experience in an ISO/ FDA regulated environment is highly desirable.
  • Candidate must be well grounded in system engineering principles and demonstrated hands-on competency working with complex medical instrumentation.


Typical experience, skills and qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Laboratory Technology, or equivalent with a minimum of 12+ years' work experience in a relevant area.
  • Understanding of product development and service life cycles.
  • Deep understanding of company organization, operations and management processes; understands the product and services development cycle and/or good scientific practices; knowledge about industry and competition's products and technologies.
  • Understanding of product development in a regulated environment.
