Description

The Sr. Performance Marketing Decision Scientist and Analytics Engineer is part of the Performance Marketing team at Verily. This is a new team responsible for supporting the commercial and marketing teams in making data-driven strategic decisions to drive positive business impact. The decision scientist and analytics engineer supports the full end to end data journey from acquisition, to analysis to recommending business action. This will be through data stewardship, data engineering, dashboards, trend analysis, benchmarking, attribution modeling, and other methods.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis and data mining of structured and unstructured data sets to uncover key business insights to inform business planning, strategy and decision-making. Support strategic projects, requests and/or analysis, as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to help drive insights, see opportunities, and understand behavior and long-term trends amongst our customer base.
  • Improve data transparency, and data accuracy, and data literacy amongst the larger organization through analytics enablement and training.
  • Drive operational excellence within the marketing organization through the identification of opportunity areas that a)improve business efficiency or b) address business obstacles/data gaps.
  • Produce data visualizations such as charts and dashboards to communicate findings and actionable recommendations to marketing leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Statistics/Math, Economics, Business Operations or any related field with an emphasis on quantitative analysis. Plus 3+ years experience in management/business consulting, data analysis, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience problem solving and providing business insights and recommendations by leveraging data.
  • Background with SQL/similar databasing languages.
  • Experience analyzing & visualizing data in BI tools such as Tableau.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative team player with the ability to stay organized whilst working with multiple stakeholders across different projects.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent in SQL with experience working in Google Big Query, PostgresQL, or similar database programs and background knowledge of Python and/or R for data cleansing, feature engineering, and data manipulation.
  • Experience working with predictive modeling, forecasting, budget maximizing models.
  • Experience working with and stitching large datasets of varying qualities along with the knowledge on how to leverage data engineering technique to clean the data.
  • Experience creating executive dashboards and helping the business define key metrics to measure the health of the business.
  • Experience generating digital marketing/campaign/social media/search insights and communicating with the business on best practices and opportunities to improve. Experience working with digital marketing, product or technical organizations.


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $128,000 - $183,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
