Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The purpose of this position is to provide oversight within the Radiation Oncology department. The individual in this role will also collaborate with leadership to devise and implement strategic administrative improvements:

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under direct supervision of the AED(administrator), perform daily operational and functional duties within the Radiation Oncology department.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise non-technical staff, including any required disciplinary action
  • Responsible for all daily operational activities within the radiation Oncology department
  • Provide oversight of the financial clearance process with Radiation Oncology
  • Collaborate with technical leadership to ensure patient concerns are addressed
  • Liaison with Patients Accounts to rectify claim denials
  • Provide oversight of patient scheduling and registration
  • Prepare reports and other documents requested by the Associate Executive Director
  • Schedule repairs and maintenance of equipment
  • Provide oversight of the Medicaid applications process
  • Support leadership in preparing documentation for accreditation and regulatory surveys
  • Ensure departmental compliance with TJC, CMC, ACROO and other regulatory authorities
  • Manage department inventory and reorder as necessary. Track expiration of vendors contracts and renew as needed
  • Coordinate with management of other departments(medical Board, nursing, engineering, IT, telecommunications, housekeeping, HR, dietary, etc) as necessary for departmental operations
  • Maintain departmental employee files, ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Generate weekly payroll submissions. Liaison with the human resources and payroll departments
  • Investigate, evaluate and resolve administrative or operational problems affecting the work unit
  • Assist the administrator and the Chief of Service with various daily operational requirements


Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in public administration or business administration, or in an
equivalent or equally acceptable program, and four (4) years of satisfactory, full-time
paid experience in a major governmental agency or large corporation or foundation
in management analysis or in operational direction, planning, coordination or control
of which two (2) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or
consultative capacity; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of
experience as stated in #1 above of which three (3) years must have been in a
supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent, however, all candidates must possess not less than the two
(2) years of supervisory, administrative or consultative experience required.
Four (4) years of appropriate general experience may be substituted for a Baccalaureate degree
requirement. Appropriate full-time teaching experience in an accredited college or university may
be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience and appropriate full-time
teaching experience in a position of professional rank may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for
the required supervisory, administrative or consultative experience.
