POSITION SUMMARY

Supervises and plans repairs of tooling fixtures. Coordinates changeover of tooling to minimize machine downtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Repair and maintain press tools, die repairs.
2. Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the press with minimal downtime to aid production
3. Evaluate each job and determine if it can be repaired in press or must be removed to Tool Room for essential maintenance and repair work
4. Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management
5. Ensure all work is undertaken to a high quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations
6. Operate Fork Lift Truck and lifting equipment
7. Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production activity and customer deadlines
8. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance
9. Responsible for development of trainees and cross-training of department personnel in various types of machine shop equipment
10. Ensures parts and tooling inventory are properly maintained and will periodically check stock to determine inventory level

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Comply with ISO, OSHA, Environmental, Health and Safety Policies as it pertains to the company and job.
2. Performs SMAT audits when required thought out the year.
3. Brings to management's attention any Environmental, Health and Safety alerts throughout the year by submitting a safety alert form.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience preferred.
2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
3. Understanding of engineering drawings
4. Planning and prioritizing activities
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
6. Understand lean manufacturing
7. Able to work as part of a team
8. Ability to learn quickly and work in a safe manner
9. Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
