DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the Cardiology Clinic, the Per Diem LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment.

Job duties to include but are not limited to direct patient care for rooming patients, taking accurate vital signs, providing immunizations for cardiology, transplant and heart failure patients, EKGs, providing medication refills, and educating patients.

Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Per Diem LVN or Sr. Per Diem LVN level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Recent experience in a similar role and setting.
  • Completion of educational requirements for licensure as a licensed vocational nurse in California.
  • Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two (2) years of cardiology LVN experience.
  • Experience with LVAD patients.
  • Experience in direct patient care.
  • EPIC experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Willing to work overtime as required.
Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $82,601 - $82,601 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.56 - $39.56

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
