Are you interested in working with the teams that developed the Kindle, FireTV, and Alexa? The Amazon Devices and Service Finance organization is expanding our technology team, and we are looking for a Senior Product Manager with expertise gathering requirements for financial planning and reporting systems, creating and maintaining technical plans and diving into the technical details to understand the nuances and complexities involved.
This position will play an integral role in ensuring the systems are accurate and support the right financial and business analysis for the global finance organization. This role will support and enable the development and automation of complex reporting and analysis that delivers the right information to multiple layers of the Devices and Services organization.
This position requires a proactive, highly motivated individual with an aptitude for customer focus and critical thinking and who can initiate and manage strategic system development across Devices and Services Finance organizations. This person will be expected to take ownership of an in-depth finance area. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, is analytical, detail oriented and possesses the ability to work well with cross-functional teams including Devices and Services, finance, and multiple software development teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Developing and driving product vision and strategy
- Managing tech products throughout the product life cycle
- Identifying business and technical requirements, including customer experience improvements, and prioritizing requests for software development teams
- Providing analytical support, including prototypes and proofs of concept, where helpful
- Ensuring that standardization, automation, scalability, and agility are components of the systems and tools
- Influencing internal and external stakeholders on a shared vision with aligned expectations
A day in the life
You will interface primarily with finance stakeholders and engineering teammates in order to scope and deliver net new and enhancements to existing products. Our core team owns the entire gross profit reporting and planning roadmap for the finance technology organization and you will be responsible for reporting routine status updates to senior leadership.
About the team
Our core team is small but mighty - two technical product leads, a program manager, and a senior manager. Our larger team is predominately US based with resources also located in APAC. The team includes application developers (IBM Cognos TM1/PA), software developers, data engineers, BI engineers, and UX designers, whom you will interact with on a daily basis. We are situated in the Devices and Service Finance organization and we deliver financial system automation and insights to our customers, working cross functionally with other non-technical and engineering teams across Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
- 3+ years experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience performing statistical analysis of data using SQL, Excel and other tools
- Financial statement (P&L, Balance Sheet, or Cash Flow) management experience
- Experience in developing financial software
- Capacity to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
- A proven track record of delivering results on time and building trust with internal and external stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
