SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, provides support to application programming staff, application users, and management regarding PNM application systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champions PNM change management process and ensures that all work required for change migration is complete, with appropriate authorizations and documentation in place prior to change migration meetings.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, focus on, and complete work
Ability to understand and assimilate complex technical information
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and assist in solving problems
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis on IT business applications and six to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to clearly and concisely write technical, conceptual, and administrative project information
Ability to speak effectively before various groups
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
COMPUTER SKILLS:
In depth knowledge of hardware and software platforms
Understanding of version control, testing, and change control processes
Ability to analyze the impact of enhancements and production problems effectively
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues related to application production systems. Ability to identify potential problems with proposed production changes. Ability to evaluate and ensure that testing performed is complete and accurate for changes being made. Ability to identify and resolve problems that occur during the migration process.
DECISION MAKING:
Ability to work with programming staff to understand changes being proposed to production systems and make decisions with programmers, users, and management based on proposed changes, testing results, and migration preparedness.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
