The Medicare and Retirement (M&R) Digital Project Manager role is a supporting role in project delivery with the Government Programs Digital Project Management team, responsible for multiple cross functional projects, based on enterprise priorities. The successful candidate will demonstrate project management skills by leveraging project management experience, communication, and negotiation skills. The candidate will be responsible for delivering value-based digital projects. This includes managing through all aspects of business and software development lifecycles using standard project management practices, such as risk mitigation, project scheduling, vendor administration, resource management, financial governance, and stakeholder alignment. Projects will include enterprise-wide digital sales initiatives aimed at improving the customer experience through our Digital channels. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, timelines, and budgets
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the project team, ensuring that work is progressing as planned, and resolving any issues or roadblocks
  • Ensuring that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and conform to the project scope and objectives
  • Manage the development and implementation of digital projects, including mobile apps, websites, and other digital platforms
  • Implement project management best practices to ensure successful delivery of value
  • Develop and maintain project plans, project schedules, and other project documentation
  • Manage project risks and issues, identifying potential problems and implementing effective solutions to mitigate risks
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget constraints
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders, including project sponsors, project teams, and other stakeholders
  • Manage the project change control process, ensuring that changes are documented, approved, and implemented appropriately
  • Ensure that all project activities comply with healthcare regulations and requirements
  • Continuously improving project management processes and methodologies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience in managing digital projects, including mobile apps, websites, and other digital platforms using agile methodologies while being comfortable with ambiguous work
  • Solid project management skills, including project planning, scheduling, and budgeting while being comfortable with ambiguous work
  • Proven excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project risks and issues and implement effective solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization while being comfortable with ambiguous work
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in health insurance industry
  • Experience in managing business/product projects within a sales organization
  • Experience working with digital platforms or digital channels
  • Experience in digital project management, preferably in a creative agency or digital marketing environment
  • Experience using various project methodologies and tools (Aha, Rally, MS Project)
  • PowerPoint experience
  • Solid knowledge of digital marketing channels and platforms, including social media, email marketing, SEO, SEM, and web analytics

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
