Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed " Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates " Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions " Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs
Responsibilities
This position is on-site in a manufacturing environment.
Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products.
Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
Audits production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.
Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or other quality failures.
May be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.
Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines
Solves complex problems
Works independently, receives minimal guidance
May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate's Degree, Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education &/ or Experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering related degree required
- 5-7 years experience in a relevant function
- Strong understanding and working experience on NDT special process Liquid Die Penetrant operations.
- Subject matter knowledge on ASTM E 1417, NAS 410 requirements
- Certified Level 3 ASNT experts strongly preferred.
- Lead and Maintain GD-OTS Garland NADCAP Liquid penetrant special process accreditation.
- NADCAP
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Less than 25% travel likely.
