General Description: Responsible for overall client relationship management of complex retirement clients. Includes day-to-day servicing, client satisfaction, and retention. Consult with clients on complex issues such as plan design, compliance, product development, and special projects and fees. Serve as the primary executive-level contact for clients' management teams. Provide information on industry-level overview, trends, and cross-sell opportunities.
Responsibilities:
• Manage service quality and retention of assigned clients that utilize various services. Includes Direct Solutions, actuarial, OPEB, DC Consulting, or others.
• Ensure that USI Consulting Group (USICG) meets client deliverables.
• Coordinate delivery of periodic plan Investment Reviews. Includes performing quality control checks and implementing client investment fund changes.
• Coordinate education campaigns for assigned clients, demonstrating employee values and promoting plan participation. Includes development of compliance-approved materials and delivering presentations.
• Ensure required fee disclosures are accurately prepared and delivered to clients in accordance with industry regulations.
• Participate in the pricing, documentation, and completion of special projects. Includes preparation and proper filing of Supplemental Service Agreements executed by clients.
• Deliver plan-level revenue and expense analyses.
• Educate sales representatives on technical and legislative changes, produce enhancements, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as liaison with internal departments to service clients and identify cross-sell opportunities. Includes the Legal, Health & Welfare, Defined Benefit, Accounting, Communications, Investment and Marketing departments.
• Work with Legal team on plan drafting, amendments, SPDs, and corrective active actions. Ensure assigned plans comply with IRS/DOL regulations.
• Build and maintain positive team morale to assist with employee retention.
• Assume the lead role in establishing new client relationships and business implementation for retirement plans, including:
• Manage implementation and conversion of assigned new business.
• Assist with website demonstrations and DC capabilities/finalist presentations for prospective clients.
• Lead and actively participate in transition meetings or conference calls.
• Establish and continually review conversion timetable. Monitor progress and work with service teams to ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
• Coordinate timely preparation and execution of required plan documentation for all parties. Includes USICG, USI Securities, USI Investment Advisors, the Plan's trustee/custodian, etc.
• Develop client-specific materials to address unique client needs and plan provisions.
• Establish proper client expectations and adjust with client as needed.
• Manage client-related travel to control and accurately report expenses.
• Consult with clients on the financial and operational performance of their plans. Make recommendations of improvements or alternatives when appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• 10 years + retirement or related business experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Business, Finance, or Human Resources.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Uniform Investment Adviser Law (Series 65 and 6) preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and partners.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Detail oriented. Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to new or changing circumstances.
• Ability to meet all client deliverables. May require extended working hours during certain periods.
