Trinity Industries is looking for a Sr. Safety Coordinator for our Longview, TX facility

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safety of our plant facilities. The selected individual will be responsible for training, maintaining records, preparing safety reports, and provide first aid. This individual needs to be highly motivated, willing to travel, and committed to achieving and maintaining the highest safety standards.

What you will do:

• Implement established safety/environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations

• Administer and monitor Corporate and BU safety/environmental programs

• Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program

• Provide training (New Hire Orientation, authorized trainings and various safety topics) to enable effective operation of the established safety systems

• Initiate, document and monitor corrective actions to adherence to safety programs

• Gather information and generates required and/or requested reports

• Works with employees to resolve safety issues and techniques

• Assist with accident/incident investigation to determine root cause and contributing factors, as well as developing recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident/incident recurrence

• Conduct environmental and safety audits of facilities, tools and equipment

• Solve a range of straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures

• Receive a moderate level of guidance and direction

• Use judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

• Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors

• Lead small projects and/or projects with minimal complexity

• Will serve as resource for other departments as needed

• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all employees throughout the facility while maintaining confidentially

• Provide first aid care for employees

Qualifications
What you will need:

• Associates Degree or similar field preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in required knowledge, skills, and abilities, preferred

• Advanced computer literacy with MS Excel, Word, Teams and PowerPoint required

• OSHA 501 Trainer Course for General Industry preferred

• First Aid/Responder or EMT certification preferred

• Considerable knowledge of all state and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, environment, and worker's compensation or ability to acquire quickly
