SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Conducts safety audits of buildings, facilities, tools and equipment. Determines safety training requirements and provides employees with safety training applicable to their work processes. Investigates accidents to determine the root cause, circumstances and contributing factors. Develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrence. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of government safety regulations.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Health and Safety
Provide support for department specific occupational, environmental, employee or patient health and safety related programs. Respond to identified concerns and reports.
• Reporting
Develop and prepare reports, which summarize trends, safety concerns and historical data. Analyze data, incident reports, and audits to related to safety and health issues.
• Education
Provide education and training to support safety initiatives.
• Investigation
Conduct investigations on incidents and safety concerns.
• Action Plan
Identify, recommend, and help implement corrective and preventative action plans.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 2 - 5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
