Application and SCADA team is looking for a Senior Engineer with a deep knowledge of the electrical grid and passion to solve challenging problems programmatically. Senior SCADA Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and deployment of the SCADA solution for utility sites. You will be the owner of the hardware and software features that encapsulate the monitoring and control schemes, data acquisition and user interface for a project. As a key member of the team, you will help to shape the success of our projects in various applications worldwide. Responsibilities

• Overall owner for the SCADA scope on utility sites
• Act as a technical point of contact both internally and externally to describe and articulate Tesla's communication and control architecture
• As a technical Subject Matter Expert, describe how the control system functions, the interfaces with external parties, evaluate how/can it be deployed in various applications
• Interface with utilities/system operators globally to understand, define, disseminate project requirements and identify project solutions, feed the information back to the engineering organization to enable and define a standardized platform/solution for project cost reduction and supportability
• Support the Sales Engineering team and Business Development team to assess and price new/custom features during the RFP/bid process
• Support system and regression testing of new features
• Review SCADA drawings from site, design monitoring and control schemes, define tags/points list, program SCADA and Balance of Plant devices onsite
• Support the Network Operations team to design and deploy the Networking schemes on site
• Support configuration of and functional and performance testing for the SCADA system onsite
• Develop documentation and training for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of monitoring and control requirements of electrical utility customers and OEMs
• Strong understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC-104, OPC, IEC 61850
• Working knowledge of programming languages like Python, Golang, C/C++
• Must be self-motivated and passionate for problem solving

Expected Compensation

$96,000 - $282,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
