Job Duties

POSITION: Senior Security Compliance Specialist

WORK LOCATION: Durham, NC ( Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the U.S.)

JOB DUTIES: Identify, assess, and mitigate IT risks. Develop and maintain standardized best practices, policies, and systems for Internal Audit/Security Compliance. Assist in developing risk-based IT audit plan. Develop project objects, scope, and audit programs. Perform audit assessments evaluating the design and effectiveness of general IT controls, service auditor reports, automated business controls, and application controls as part of audit program and other audit engagements. Prepare and present reports on audit results and findings. Work with system owners to ensure corrective action plans are in place to remediate gaps or deficiencies. Perform follow up audits to ensure, report, and track remediation efforts. Develop and deliver training over general IT controls, application controls, and other areas. Coordinate with external auditors and internal affected teams on annual audit plan. Assist with internal investigations regarding financial reporting matters. Provide audit perspective to assigned special projects, including business/asset acquisitions, system implementations, and process improvements. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the U.S.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or related field
  • 4 years of experience as an IT Auditor or similar role, including 3 years of experience in the following:
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of IT risks;
  • IT audit standards such as ITIL or CoBIT;
  • Microservices;
  • Auditing Databases;
  • Implementation and testing of SOX audits;
  • Analyzing and reviewing SOC reports; and,
  • Public company accounting

All experience may be gained concurrently.

Base pay may be based on various factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance depending on the terms of the applicable plan and the employee's role.
