Sr. Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant is an integral part of the General Accounting team. The Senior Staff Accountant will perform month-end close entries, balance sheet reconciliations, analysis and special projects as assigned. Additionally, the Senior Staff Accountant will work with the warehouse and transportation management teams to build financial acumen in those areas.
Essential Functions:
Compile, manipulate and interpret large operational datasets
Investigate and identify drivers of financial metrics
Trace and troubleshoot system driven accounting processes
Month end close entries
Balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned
Financial statements preparation
Assisting with tax compliance
Freight cost analysis and benchmarking
Contact for warehouse & transportation financial questions and issues
Assist Accounting Leadership with special projects

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor Degree in Accounting
2-5 years General Accounting experience (distribution experience a plus)
Must have strong Excel skills and be proficient in Word and Outlook
CPA or working towards CPA
Must possess understanding of GAAP and ability to apply them to real world scenarios
Demonstrated ability to analyze, report and communicate complex accounting processes
Ability to interpret financial statements

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

JDE experience a plus
SQL, PowerBI, Tableau
Workday experience
