Amazon MGM Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. In service of Amazon's Prime Video customers globally, it is our role to produce and acquire content, including popular Originals such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Boys, Fallout, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Saltburn, Road House, and The Idea of You.

Within Amazon MGM Studios, the Original Movies Strategy team is seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker to join as a Sr. Strategy Manager in Culver City, CA. This role will focus on content strategy for Original Movies on Prime Video, including the facilitation of greenlights. The Sr. Strategy Manager will work closely with senior leaders across creative development, production, business affairs, finance, programming, and marketing, and will have a high degree of visibility within the organization. We are seeking a candidate who has a strong understanding of the movie business, proven analytical skills, and an ability to clearly communicate findings to senior management. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in a fast-paced environment that is constantly evolving.

Key job responsibilities

- Evaluate Original Movies being considered for greenlight

- Assess the financial and strategic considerations of various movie deal structures and release models

- Analyze Prime Video viewership data to surface insights and inform senior leadership decisions

- Author strategy documents providing recommendations on slate planning, content investments, new business models, and 'think big' opportunities

- Serve as a knowledge center for streaming movie performance, forecasting methodologies, and performance reporting

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or a similar role within the media and entertainment industry

- Proven analytical skills, including experience using complex modeling to inform key business decisions

- Experience leading high-impact projects in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to senior leadership

- Ability to work effectively with a high degree of autonomy

- Candidates must be highly proficient in Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working in movie or television content strategy, or in a similar fast-paced, high-impact role in the media and entertainment industry

- Passion for movies and the business of entertainment

- Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role

- Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity requirements for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
