Insight Global is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a federal program in Lorton, VA. The program offers a wide range of IT services, including software application support, enterprise infrastructure support, service desk, ITSM, deskside support, workstation engineering and maintenance, telecommunications and mobility engineering services, managed print services, Active Directory services, and video conferencing.

This role involves providing expert-level system administration services to manage and maintain the equipment, networks, and web applications that support the field communications systems used by field agents, officers, and investigators worldwide.

Day to Day
- Apply STIGs using DISA SCAP or OpenSCAP tools; harden servers using DISA STIG and other guidance; create Golden Images for future deployments.
- Provide operations and maintenance (O&M) support for a mission-critical government system, both independently and in collaboration with senior system administrators.
- Manage Dell PowerEdge R940 servers & iDRAC for disaster recovery/management.
- Administer VMWare vSphere & VMWare vCenter Server.
- Manage Windows Server 2019 & later, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 & later.
- Deploy patches & fixlets from BigFix to endpoint servers & clients; ensure patches are tested before deployment.
- Manage Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS); ensure domain controller certificates remain current.
- Ensure web services availability for certificate authority information access (AIA) and other services using Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Resolve complex systems and software-related issues quickly and effectively.
- Develop solutions to technical issues on complex software and systems.
- Monitor & maintain Active Directory (AD) structure to ensure high availability and data consistency.
- Develop standard guidelines on configuration management processes.
- Maintain technical documentation and diagrams related to field communications systems equipment & networks.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience. High school diploma with 12+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Public Trust security clearance.
- Experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various operating systems (Windows Server, RHEL), patch management, and Active Directory.
- Experience designing, implementing, and configuring systems infrastructure.
- Experience providing O&M support to complex, mission-critical systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interface with customers and understand their requirements, issues, and mission needs.
- Extensive experience with the following technologies:

o Dell PowerEdge R940 servers & iDRAC

o VMWare vSphere & VMWare vCenter Server

o Windows Server 2019 & later

o Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 & later

o BigFix Patch Management

o Active Directory (AD) and AD Certificate Services

o Internet Information Services (IIS)

o Crowdstrike, Splunk, Qualys security tools

o Configuration management processes

o Apache httpd, PHP 8 & MariaDB Enterprise implementations
