OVERVIEW

Buchanan Technologies, an IT Consulting company is seeking applicants for a Contract role - Sr. Systems & Information Security Engineer for an assignment to our Client.

As a Sr Systems & Information Security Engineer, you will work as part of the Systems & Information Security Team with a primary focus on day-to-day operations, support, and administration of security controls.

You will be responsible for providing Tier 2 support, and triage, for internal support requests which are assigned to the Systems & Information Security Team, day to day administration of established security controls, as well as working on issues with external service/solution providers. You will also work as a point of escalation for Tier 1 Systems & Information Engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Triaging requests for support, and alerts from security systems/controls, and provide support to end users with regards to security related matters.
  • Conducts Certificate Management and PKI Operations
  • Performing day to day operations, and associated reporting, of Security Awareness initiatives
  • Performing day to day operations and supporting of Identity and Access Management systems
  • Conducting Day to Day operations and administrating of Email Security Systems
  • Assisting with implementation and delivery of security projects and initiatives
  • Assisting with SIEM investigations and proactively responding to alerts
  • Participating in incident response activities and taking necessary actions to remediate incidents.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing reports and dashboards to provide insight into security posture and incidents.
  • Assisting with generation, and maintenance, of support documentation and workflows for reference within a knowledgebase.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree, or diploma, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CASP+, CEH, CCNA Security, or equivalent.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred

Experience
  • Practical experience with administration and support activities around secure email gateways, identity and access management systems, and Security information and event management (SIEM)
  • Practical experience with application control solutions and enterprise antivirus solutions
  • Practical experience in regards to customer support and working with internal and external resources over verbal and written channels.
  • Practical experience around networking concepts and protocols, including the use of packet capture software.
  • Practical experience in demonstrating problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
