Sr Tax Operations Consultant

File the companys tax documents, including quarterly payments, extensions and tax returns.
Recommend new strategies based on new taxation laws on the local, state or federal level.
Prepare, consolidate and review provision schedules.
Ensure federal, state, and local tax compliance through the utilization of industry standard best practices.
Maintain the proper materials so that you will be capable of interpreting and reviewing changes in the law.
Look into potential acquisitions and mergers to determine profitability, which includes finding areas to save on taxes, calculating ratios and analyzing any additional tax information.
Streamline procedures and offer recommendations on how the tax filing process can run more efficiently.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors in finance, accounting or business.
10 + years of experience working as a tax accountant/ tax consultant, or tax operations manager.
Ability to interpret legal documents and operate within industry standard best practices.
Knowledge of tax accounting and tax operations systems and industry standard best practices.
Knowledge of general ledger systems and softwares.
Proven experience supporting tax transformation and tax operations within a fortune 500 company.
Substantial knowledge within the industry with a proven track record within tax compliance.
Experienced with partnership returns in accordance with US regulations.

Previous utilities background or experience working in highly regulated industries comparable to utilities
