Amazon is building the largest EV fleet and charging network in the world as part of our Climate Pledge. The Sr. Technical Program Manager will oversee the development and testing of new initiatives to decrease costs. You'll be joining a fast-paced team building from zero-to-one. The ideal candidate for this role will 1) be highly customer obsessed, 2) excited to apply their engineering skills, and 3) excel at building new processes and mechanisms with a multitude of stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

- Manage lab and field testing for new product development; develop test cases alongside engineers

- Manage team of third party field engineers to gather data during testing

- Develop processes and mechanisms for efficient data collection from the field

- Interpret and report out on test results

A day in the life

You'll start off the morning by reviewing third party vendor test results alongside our engineering team, then sending emails and slack messages to our external partners to prioritize their work properly based on those conversations.

You'll then deep dive a high risk failure mode and develop a test plan against it.

In the afternoon, you'll hold a meeting with field engineers to ensure they understand their deliverables and are trained on any tools / SOPs they need to be successful. You'll also interview field engineers to ensure we have enough coverage during our pilot testing.

About the team

The EV Charging Infrastructure and Products team is responsible for accelerating Amazon's Last Mile electrification and facilitating the successful transition of our delivery fleet to achieve net zero-emissions in support of The Climate Pledge. We define EV charging and infrastructure product needs, develop or source solutions to meet those needs, and manage the performance of our EV charging assets post-installation. We are relentless evangelists for our products and technology solutions, and the positive impact they will have on our internal and external customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
