Industry: Software Development
Salary: Competitive
Job type: Full-Time

At Amazon, the Last Mile Technology (LMT) group is responsible for envisioning and developing cutting edge initiatives in delivering packages to our customers as fast and as cost effectively as possible. We are working on the technology that ensures we are providing a great experience for package delivery to customers. In 2020, we delivered billions of packages worldwide and we continue to operate at large scale.\r

\r

Routing and Planning is at the heart of the Last Mile Operations. Pre Station Planning involves all the systems and processes to accurately forecast package demand for a forward looking period and ensure optimal provisioning of resources to cater to that demand in the period leading up to the day of operations. These planning systems are critical to ensuring that resource provisioning maintains the right balance between cost and level of service.\r

\r

Our team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to manage large, cross functional programs and projects that support multiple initiatives in the Pre Station Planning space that are aimed towards building the next generation of planning and forecasting systems. These systems work in the timeline from several months out leading up to the week of execution to determine how much package volume is expected to come into the network, how much of that gets assigned to a location and what should be the ideal allocation of drivers, vans and delivery partners to service that volume. In this role you will be responsible for delivering complex projects end-to-end keeping Amazon's scale and quality in mind. LMT is a large, service-oriented architecture with thousands of components that work together to provide a single application experience. \r

\r

TPMs drive change at Amazon as a Senior TPM in LMT, you will drive the long term architecture of next-generation systems to enable accurate forecasting of future package demand at station level leading up to optimal decision making on labor, driver and delivery partner capacity requirements. You will drive the design and build functions for this new platform working with several teams across the Supply Chain and Last Mile Tech orgs among others, and help ensure the solutions are designed to minimize operational burden and the costs of future change. You will also anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. This is an opportunity to work on development of complex systems with large scale world wide impact.\r

\r

Are you able to look around corners, see into the future, and change the world? Are your problem solving skills legendary? Do you excel at decomposing problems and inventing simple solutions? Can you influence development teams across multiple organizations to ensure the right technical solution is delivered?\r

\r

Come build the next generation of technology for Amazon's Last Mile Technology team. The Last Mile Technology team builds services and apps to help deliver packages for businesses such as Prime Now, Amazon Flex, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Lockers and more! We are the team where the rubber meets the road (quiet literally) and do whatever it takes to keep the customer promise!\r
