TITLE: Sr. Test Engineer
LOCATION: Maryland Heights, MO

JOB SUMMARY: Develop applications used by Charter Communications' call center agents to address questions and solve customer issues. Define test strategies and execute testing to verify quality of software and identify automation and improvement opportunities earlier in the development cycle within processes, tools, and duplication. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline test processes. Document test methodology to ensure delivery of quality products. Define and track quality assurance metrics including defects, defect counts, test results, and test status. Perform analysis of scenarios, ensure defects are well-written and capture required diagnostic information, and drive defects to resolution. Review test cases to cover requirements. Ensure test cases meet best practices and industry standards. Set manual and automation test execution goals and provide comprehensive reports. Perform back-end system and user interface (UI) triage and troubleshooting when identifying defects. Deliver quality process training to technical staff and perform quality assurance. Perform quality audits across various functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are followed. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement test plans designed to support new and existing business initiatives. Work with automation engineers to determine failure reasons. Utilize test methodologies, perform test scenarios utilizing risk-based testing methods including Exploratory or Boundary Value Analysis; utilize SDLC, software testing processes, and software testing tools including HP-ALM and TestRail to oversee test cases, plan test cycles, and collate test reports; define automation strategy and implement automation framework to create, support, and implement automation strategies; work with database schemas and querying tools to query external tools to confirm data is passing through for testing instances; analyze and resolve automation related problems to diagnose and fix issues.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field; 5 years of experience utilizing test methodologies, performing test scenarios utilizing risk-based testing methods including Exploratory and Boundary Value Analysis; utilizing SDLC, software testing processes, and software testing tools including HP-ALM or TestRail to oversee test cases, plan test cycles, and collate test reports; 2 years of experience defining automation strategy or implementing automation framework to create, support, or implement automation strategies; 1 year of experience working with database schemas and querying tools SQL to query external tools to confirm data is passing through for testing instances; and analyzing or resolving automation related problems to diagnose and fix issues.
