Stadium Operations - F/T Skilled Maintenance - Painter FT Skilled Maintenance - Painter Position Profile: UTIL MAINT - STADIUM SYSTEMS Department: Stadium Systems Reports to: Project Director MEP & Construction Rate of Pay: $35.24/hour Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Job Summary: Painters are responsible for maintaining all painting needs at the University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex, Arrowhead Stadium and outside areas of the Truman Sports Complex.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
    1. Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area.
    2. Operates compressors, striping machines, sandblasters, spray equipment and other small power equipment.
    3. Install, repair and maintain drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
    4. Operates heavy lift equipment including scissors, and boom swing stage to heights of 80 feet.
    5. Erects various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area for painters and others.
    6. Applies paints, stains, surface preparatory material, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Material Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
    7. Determines appropriate color for new or replacement applications through consultation with customer.
    8. Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting.
    9. Prepares and implements line striping for streets and parking lot
    10. Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory material, undercoating material and hazardous material.
    11. Professional Appearance: All applicants must maintain a professional appearance.


COMPETENCIES
    1. Knowledge of tools, equipment, material, and application techniques common to the painting trade.
    2. Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application and disposal
    3. Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.

    6. Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., sometimes over shoulder.
    7. Repetitive bending and lifting of items

EXPECTATIONS
    1. Reports to work each day and on time and works extra hours when needed.
    2. Employee must comply with proper safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when using cleaning chemicals, reporting incidents, etc.).
    3. Provides excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
    4. The employee must be able to determine the neatness, accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
    5. If required to travel for business maintains a valid driver's license and good driving record.
    6. Must undergo and pass a background check.
    7. Must be approved by Management
