Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Serves as an administrative agent of Nursing Recruitment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

50% Oversees administrative procedures as of Nursing Recruitment with a focus on clinical operations involving Registered Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist (RT), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Surgical Technicians (Surg Tech) and Advanced Practice Providers (APP)
  • Manages and coordinates all initial hiring paperwork of new hires as the application process through SMH. Identifies any issues and implements corrective actions to complete the hiring process. Interfaces with other university departments and external agencies as it relates to the credentialing process (RN licensure; sex offender database; RBA; National Student Clearinghouse; 1-9)
  • Manages all Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) information and affinnative action data in HRMS and resolves any outstanding issues with Director of Equal Opportunity Compliance and Title IX Coordinator. Required for Federal Government reporting.
  • Coordinates recruitment, hiring, orientation and activities ofRNs, RTs, LPNs, Surg Techs, and APPs. This includes all internal and external advertising. Obtain pricing from outside vendors to follow up on all invoices.
  • Assists the Coordinator of Nursing Recruitment with the operations of recruitment including compliance and regulatory issues, orientation, mentoring, and continuing education. Maintain the HRMS website to ensure all positions are posted prior to hiring applicants. Ensure attendance of all newly hired nursing employees attend mandatory orientation.
  • Gatekeeper ofHIPPA Privacy and Security for all applicants and employees within Nursing Practice. Manages position control to ensure clinical units stay within the budgeted FTEs allotted for the un its.
20% Directs and coordinates service budget, provides reports and follow up on variances . Coordinates budget expenditures and funding requests. Tracks and monitor request for payments. Assists in detennining capital needs and makes allocations within the department or project. Initiates or authorizes orders for space, equipment, supplies and services. Recommends the purchase or repair of major equipment. Maintains liaison with respect to maintenance, custodial, purchasing and other central services.

10% Manages and coordinate Travelers (RNs & LPNs) for Nursing Practice . Secure all compliance paperwork and ensure traveler is eligible to work with SMH. Communicates with outside agencies concerning any disciplinary actions that are required up to and including tenninating the contract. (This percent will fluctuate based on Nursing vacancies and opening of new units)

20% Coordinates recruitment and hiring of office support staff. Develops and establishes procedures and schedules to meet operation needs. Initiates and conducts related personnel actions. Complete yearly evaluation.

Performs other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree and one year relevant experience, preferreably including at least I year in an administrative capacity in an academic office or project management, or the equivalent experience in business.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $24.91 - $34.87 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
