Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager or other appropriate individual, performs operational and financial audits to improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance processes within NYC Health + Hospitals. Performs specific audit procedures or tasks as assigned and/or directed.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Supports supervising auditor in completion of assigned responsibilities.
• Conducts interviews with client personnel to assist in the evaluation of internal controls.
• Collects documentation in support of audit activities.
• Executes and completes audit fieldwork according to established procedures.
• Documents internal controls identified through audits.
• Prepares workpapers and communicates audit findings to appropriate personnel.
• Recommends internal control process improvements as necessary and/or appropriate.
• Travels to System facilities and other locations as assigned and/or necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned and/or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field of study.

Department Preferences

  • Knowledgeable in: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Data Analytics.
  • One to two years of satisfactory experience in internal auditing, Accounting, Finance and/or public accounting.
