Staff Accountant This position is a combination of cost accounting and general accounting duties. The Staff/Cost Accountant will process and evaluate accounting data through reconciliations and analysis of transaction level and general ledger activity to ensure accuracy on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements. The role will work closely with operations and warehouse leads to ensure inventory is accurately captured systematically.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Assist in the maintenance of master cost sheets. Ensure raw materials, work in progress and finished goods have accurate costing.
    • Perform cost estimates for new products or potential changes to existing products, as required.
    • Analyze inventory and assist in projecting shrink and obsolescence reserves.
    • Prepare invoices for client "on account" purchases.
    • Develop a sound understanding of the chart of accounts to be able to recommend coding for various expenses;
    • Analyze general ledger activity and make adjustments when necessary;
    • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with established policy;
    • Assist field and corporate finance personnel with questions regarding departmental expenses;
    • Collaborate with other Finance teams to share information on new activity, unusual trends or other fluctuations in accounting data; and
    • Ad-hoc analysis of various accounts with comparisons to prior year or budget as necessary
    • You'll collaborate with venue finance and accounting personnel to continuously improve processes and transitions of work.
    • These functions may include, but are not limited to, establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures, preparing/overseeing the preparation and evaluation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial operating reports and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Management.

      QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
      • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
      • 3+ years of experience in accounting and/or financial management
      • Intermediate or advanced MS Excel (ability to perform complex functions)
      • Working Knowledge of Infor a plus
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
      • Strong attention to detail required
      • Be a business partner with other departments ensuring financial success of the venue
      • Solid Management, motivational and interpersonal skills
      • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
      • A positive, upbeat and professional attitude and strong work ethic
      • You must be self-motivated and a team player
      • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and take on new tasks
      • Superb verbal/written communications and organizational skills
