How will you make an impact in this role?

We're looking for an experienced hands-on technical leader to help our application teams modernize applications and uplift the capabilities and resiliency of our systems, while reducing costs and improving speed to market. In depth working knowledge of mainframe middleware / subsystem components will be key to this role's success. As we explore new capabilities in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning we are also taking strides to make sure our infrastructure is more resilient and available for our millions of card members around the world.. This person will come up with creative solutions and be passionate about design and user experience. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, environment within a Fortune 100 company where you can directly impact real dollars in revenue growth and operational savings.

This person will join the Mainframe Operations and Engineering team whose directive includes building innovative and resilient systems at all touch points of a consumer's journey whether before, at, or after purchase. This person will be an individual contributor responsible for engineering design and architecture with a chance to influence the company's roadmap in new infrastructure technologies and capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on architecture, design, development and be familiar with software development methodologies.
  • Able to investigate a topic and rapidly iterate on ideas despite ambiguity.
  • Stitch together a solution by integrating emerging tech with legacy platform where required.
  • Apply foundational automation capabilities to protect our customer experience.
  • Build proofs of concepts and lead small dev teams to implement specific features.
  • Help cultivate innovation and inventor mentality


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with IMS, CIMS, MQ and DB2
  • Experience with new cloud and containers
  • Experience with traditional Mainframe Subsystems.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record to innovate.
  • Validated experience and ability to work collaboratively and successfully across functional areas.
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering
  • Consistent record of designing, developing, distributed and/or mobile applications.


Qualifications

Salary Range: $170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
