Description

Members of the Environmental department are essential in assuring Environmental compliance at the refinery. This position will oversee local regulation implementation and compliance, effectively advocate on local rule making, oversee permit applications and applicability, and provide NSR/Title V expertise within the Environmental Department. Can expect to rotate positions within the department.

  • Ensures Refinery implementation and compliance with local rulemaking.
  • Participates in advocacy of local rulemaking to attain reasonable and achievable environmental regulations. Reads and interprets environmental regulations. Prepares analysis of regulatory impacts on refinery operations and recommends changes to maintain compliance.
  • Completes, or provides oversite to other staff members, permit applications or applicability review of Title V and NSR permitting. Local BAAQMD permitting experience is preferred.
  • Maintains current knowledge of existing and proposed regulations and provides technical support to refinery on topics related to Environmental.
  • Provides technical assistance to other Valero business groups relating to Environmental issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

The salary range for this position is $155,200 to $213,400 and represents Valero's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Benicia Refinery, required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Engineering or related science required.
  • 8 years of environmental engineering, or related refinery engineering experience required.


Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
