Collins Aerospace is looking for a Staff Manufacturing Engineer who will work on our military manufacturing team, working independently and collaborate with other manufacturing design personnel You will analyze designs and develop component layouts. You will also coordinate and implement sequence of operations, and product updates and enhancements.

**You need to work onsite in Riverside CA.**

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review/Manage elements of product development activities including cost/hour estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board layout and interpretation, and development of performance or maintenance requirements.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (design, build, and tooling engineers) and operations to efficiently build parts on schedule
  • Ability to mentor and coach engineers on writing/reviewing specifications, process requirements, work instructions, problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Reviews and validates recommendations regarding manufacturability of existing and future products and advises modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints.
  • Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research tomanufacturing.Such design and development may include new or revised processes.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and design to implement robust processes.
  • May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials
  • Instrumental in all actions involving new Capital equipment, such as writing capital funding requests, Statement of Work & Validation requirements; interface with vendors, contractors from installation to production.
  • Support manufacturing production planning and coordination, capacity planning, line design, production execution, and operations process development.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must Be a U.S Citizen
  • Experience in 2D and 3D CAD tools
  • Experience with drawings and BOMs; Assembly Instructions; Engineering Change systems; Quality systems for non-conforming parts and corrective action
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) Tools
  • ERP experience
  • Military Production background
  • Able to communicate and make presentations to senior level leadership
  • MS PowerPoint-create presentations
  • Able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on advanced composites manufacturing experience including "out of autoclave" prepreg systems
  • Experience transitioning products from prototype manufacturing through volume production
  • Experience in programming industrial robotics e.g. Cartesian, SCARA, multi-axis robots is highly desired (from Fanuc, Omron, UR etc)
  • SAP experience
  • Lean, Six Sigma or ACE experience
  • UG NX, CATIA or equivalent experience
