Staff Pharmacist 0.88 FTE - Summerville Campus
Summerville 0700-1730, Main Campus 0830-1900
Work 2 days, Off 2 days, Work 3 days (70 hours/pay period)

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and
equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding,
dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the
various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by
auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional
pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide
patients with optimal medication therapy.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of Pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pharmacy.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
NA

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Processes medication orders from patient care areas.
Oversees pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary
personnel.

optimal medication therapy.

Typing and computer skills.
Ability to work effectively with others while possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests.
Ability to exercise sound professional judgment.
Must possess good written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate
appropriately.
Must maintain up to date knowledge of drug information.
Ability to monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations concerning patients
medication/pharmaceutical care needs.
Skill and ability in pharmacy automation and dispensing technology.
Knowledge of current DNV standards.
