Our client in the building and construction industry is immediately seeking a Staff Project Accountant to join their team in Nashville, TN. The Staff Project Accountant performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records and reports.

Staff Project Accountant Responsibilities:

• Compile, analyze and summarize financial data and trends to prepare reports
• Enter financial transactions accurately into the system and maintain proper documentation
• Audit documents to ensure the accuracy and validity of financial transactions
• Coordinate activities and provide support to accounting staff while addressing their queries
• Uphold financial security measures and promote an ethical work environment by adhering to internal controls
• Verify documentation and process payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Maintain meticulous records of vendor information, including payment terms and joint checks
• Reconcile ERP with Project Management software to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Manage monthly bank statement reconciliation and oversee cash management activities
• Stay updated on industry trends and developments through continuous learning and professional networking
• Review financial reports prepared by accountants to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
• Assist with year-end reporting, including annual filings, audits and tax returns
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Staff Project Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Experience with Sage/Procore software is preferred
• 1+ years of accounting or construction finance experience
