Job Title: Staff Psychologist

Job Summary

Provide psychological consultations to various clinical services at Miami Jewish Health, including assessment and diagnosis, basic neuropsychological testing, crisis management, staff support and education, research screening and rating, and psychotherapy.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform psychological consults including assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans. Including basic neuropsychological testing such as MMSE, MoCA and other brief scales
  • Provide direct support, education and brief counseling to individuals and families
  • Serve as part of multidisciplinary teams at Miami Jewish in clinical services including MIND Institute, Integrated Rehab, PACE, clinical research, and behavioral health for the nursing home, SNF, and Cypen Towers
  • Provide psychotherapy services to residents and outpatients, including psychoeducational, supportive, cognitive-behavioral, and other relevant modalities
  • Serve as staff on grant-supported studies and clinical trials, including as a clinical rater
  • Be able to lead the management of behavioral crises in the nursing home, including involuntary hospitalization
  • Serve as a resource and educator for staff on psychologically related issues
  • Willing to serve at multiple sites and be a key contributor to organization-wide behavioral health initiatives


Job Requirements

Education

  • PsyD or PhD in Psychology


Experience

  • One-year post-doctoral supervised experience
  • Experience working with Elderly population
  • Experience with patients experiencing neurocognitive disorders, medical disorders, and disabilities
  • Familiar with hospital and nursing home setting


Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid State of Florida Psychologist license
  • Current AHA BLS Certification


Abilities Required

  • Psychological and neuropsychological assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills
  • Occasional overnight traveling for research related programs
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
