We are seeking a skilled Staff Research Associate to join our team and a ssist in preparation, management, and daily use of critical laboratory resources, including reagents for molecular biology experiments (2XYT, TAE, and bacterial plates) and mammalian cell culture experiments. Optimize and perform several laboratory techniques. Assist with determining the best experimental procedure for all the critical experiments. Perform isolation of protein, RNA, and DNA. Perform maxiprep, miniprep, restriction digest and electrophoresis of plasmid. Perform production of lentiviral vectors and transduction of cell with the vectors. Perform experiments using animal models of lentiviral transduction. Perform experiments using BSL2+ replication competent virus, such as human immunodeficiency virus type 1. This role will entail a large amount of tissue culture work such as cell maintenance type work.
