STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I - BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SERVICES (BMS) SECTION / CONTRACT SERVICES UNIT

The reporting location for this position is Headquarters located at 715 P Street, 12 th Floor, Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II in the BMS Section.

The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the Contract Services Unit (CSU) and the department's decentralized non-IT and IT service contracts. This position supports the department's mission by ensuring that all contract awards comply with statutes and regulations, State Administrative Manual policies, State Contracting Manual, Government Codes, Public Contract Codes, Management Memos, Department of General Services (DGS) exemption letters and Departmental policies and procedures. The Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) provides department staff with expert advice and consultation on complex and sensitive contracts matters and proactively develops contract process timelines/schedules with program managers.

The incumbent must demonstrate the following abilities: work independently; ability to effectively lead a team; commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and harassment; good work habits; adhere to all department policies and procedures; occasional travel may be required.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered.
