The CDFW Office of Cannabis is seeking a highly motivated Staff Services Manager I (Supervisory) to serve in a limited term role to support a team of analytical staff. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly motivated team of analysts and ensure continued success of CDFW's Cannabis Program.

Under the general direction of the Cannabis Program Director, the incumbent supervises a team of analysts assigned to administrative functions including contracts and grants, procurement, and other business processes. The SSM I (Supervisory) is responsible for fostering and maintaining strategic and collaborative relationships with departmental staff, ensuring the highest level of engagement and partnership. The SSM I (Supervisory) is specifically assigned to provide limited term administrative oversight of the Cannabis Restoration Grant Program, ensuring funds are encumbered, expended, tracked, and reported accurately and on time.

This position is a 12 month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

If you currently have permanent status in your position and have passed probation, you have mandatory reinstatement rights into your former position at the end of this LT appointment. If you have not had prior permanent or probationary civil service status, you will be separated from state service.

Working Conditions
This position requires the use of a computer for several hours each day and tasks that require sitting, standing, and walking to other locations. Occasional travel is required within the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.). Travel may include multiple day overnight stay dependent upon departmental need.

This position is based in downtown Sacramento. Parking is not provided. This position is eligible for hybrid telework schedule with a minimum of two days in office, dependent on operational needs.
