  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 2 years of experience in Applied Machine Learning.
  • Experience in people management in a technical environment.
  • Excellent project management skills.

In this role, you will lead a small team of Android Engineers within the Google Photos Creative Expression team. You will build the photo, video, and movie editors in Google Photos to allow users to create and edit their content. You will focus on bringing Google's cutting edge computational photography technologies to Photos and delivering a reliable and delightful editing experience for Photos.

Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Android engineers, guiding them in designing, developing, and deploying innovative features for Google Photos.
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap and strategy for the Android platform, ensuring alignment with the overall goal for Google Photos.
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
  • Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
