We are seeking a full-time Staff Software Engineer in our Olathe, KS location. T his is a critical and highly visible role, you will be responsible for leading the development and application of AI technologies across our product portfolio, shaping the future direction of our products and services. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models and systems across various products and services.
- Partner closely with product teams to translate business needs into AI solutions, including building prototypes, defining product roadmaps, and providing technical guidance.
- Leverage cutting-edge AI/ML technologies and methodologies to drive business growth and product innovation.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on the adoption and application of AI/ML technologies, including budget allocation and investment decisions.
- Act as an evangelist for AI innovation, educating both technical and non-technical stakeholders about the potential and limitations of AI/ML technologies
- Provide expert guidance on architecture specifically related to the implementation of AI and machine learning (ML) systems, such as patterns supporting challenger models and retraining of incumbent models.
- Implement robust monitoring systems to track model performance, identify and mitigate model drift, and ensure ongoing model accuracy and reliability in production systems.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate model performance, validate hypotheses, and optimize model parameters and features.
- Implement human-in-the-loop annotation strategies to enrich the organization`s data assets through focused, systematic labeling processes, ensuring models learn from human generated feedback.
- Communicate complex concepts and findings to stakeholders and senior leadership, effectively demonstrating the value and impact of AI/ML initiatives.
- Articulate ethical considerations related to model bias, data bias, and data privacy.
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, training and guidance to other individual contributors to strengthen AI related competencies across the organization.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, or other relevant degree with a Data Science or Applied Statistics Emphasis
- At least 10 years of experience with machine learning algorithms, deep learning, natural language processing, or other relevant AI technologies
- Proven track record of designing, building, and deploying production-ready AI systems
- Experience in a leadership role with a strong track record of strategic decision-making
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of big data technologies microservices architecture, and API design
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and apply critical thinking to complex business challenges.

- Familiarity with regulatory and ethical considerations related to AI
