About the Role
Scientists at Uber use data to improve and automate all aspects of Uber's products. Your scope will cover the entire rider experience, ranging from the core rider experience to newer verticals like rentals, Uber reserve, and business users. You will lead the development of experimentation and quasi-experimental methods and processes to address some of our most challenging causal problems.

- Design, own, and improve experimentation and measurement processes
- Propose, design, and analyze large scale online experiments
- Present findings to business and executive audiences
- Design, develop, productionize, and operate econometric models, experiments, and frameworks to assess challenging causal problems such as product incrementality and long-term value
\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----
- 4+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent.
- Expertise in econometrics
- Expertise in experimental design and analysis
- Expertise in underlying mathematical foundations of machine learning, statistics, optimization, economics, and analytics
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross functional partners of varying technical levels.
\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Ph.D. in Economics or Statistics
- 7+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent
- Experience modeling lifetime value and estimating incrementality
- Experience on experimentation platform team
- Experience implementing experimentation processes
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
