State and Local Tax Manager - Job Duties:

• Supervise the preparation and review of various tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Educate internal teams on tax matters and ensure awareness across the organization
• Develop and implement tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance
• Identify and implement improvements in tax processes and information gathering
• Conduct research on SALT tax issues, providing solutions for risk management and cost savings
• Lead and manage a team of SALT tax professionals, offering direction, training, and support
• Stay informed about changes in SALT tax laws and regulations and update internal teams accordingly
• Collaborate with various departments to align SALT tax strategies with business goals
• Assist with tax matters related to mergers and acquisitions, including integrating new entities
• Review complex tax returns and related documentation for multiple jurisdictions
• Represent the organization in tax audits, appeals, and other proceedings

State and Local Tax Manager - Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred
• 7+ years of tax experience, including strong exposure to multistate income and indirect taxes
• Partnership taxation and state and local flow-through income tax laws a plus
• Proven tax experience within almost all 50 states
• Prior supervisory skills and ability to multi-task
• Proficiency in tax software and research tools, as well and Microsoft Office
• Advanced technical and analytical skills required
• Superb attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication skills required
