State Park Equipment Operator - Monterey DISTRICT / Facilities and Development / Monterey District Office
Post & Bid: This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is Monterey District Office in Monterey County, CA). This position will work under the general direction of Park Maintenance Chief III.
The incumbent's work schedule will be Monday to Thursday from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM.
This position is responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of assigned heavy equipment within Monterey District. Knowledge of operation in remote outdoor settings is needed and will be determined by the Roads and Trails Chief I. This position may be assigned work various projects throughout the District. In the course of routine activities, the incumbent may act as crew leader for seasonal and skilled staff within the Maintenance Programs and the Roads and Trails Program. Other occasional duties for this position include attending staff meetings, assisting in emergency activities (rescue, first aid, Storm events, etc.), preparing and leading safety or accident prevention meetings, training/orienting new or lesser skilled staff and responding to questions from park visitors.
This position requires a valid Class A driver's license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver's license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
This position will be subject to the Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
