STATE PARK PEACE OFFICER SUPERVISOR (RANGER) - SANTA CRUZ DISTRICT / PAJARO COAST SECTOR / SEACLIFF STATE BEACH

This position is a 12-month Limited-Term position that may be extended and/or become permanent.

To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. The reporting location for this position is Half Moon Bay State Beach. This position will work under the general supervision of the State Park Superintendent II.

The duties and focus of this position is the direct supervision of the aquatic program and assigned seasonal staff in the San Mateo Coast Sector of the Santa Cruz District. Additionally, the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor I (Lifeguard) will serve as the on-duty supervisor for State Park Peace Officers and other Public Safety personnel in the absence of a full-time State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger).

The incumbent is responsible for the following areas as identified in the Santa Cruz District Aquatic Operations Work Plan:
• Maintaining the statistical data program for the District's Aquatic Program, providing monthly statistical reports to the Public Safety Superintendent.
• Sector Lead for First Aid Equipment and AED.
• Maintain program form files, bulletin boards, and photographic displays.
• Oversee the Seasonal Lifeguard Field Training Program and Seasonal Lifeguard Evaluation process, and ALRT.
• Continue to develop and maintain the seasonal Lifeguard Field Training Program.
• Assist with the State Lifeguard Training Program as an Emergency Medical Responder Instructor.
• Assist with Junior Guard program and instruction of Junior Lifeguard Instructors
• Assist with providing employee safety, development plans, handle workers compensation cases and employee vehicle accidents.
• Coordinate all aspects of the RWC program for the San Mateo Sector.
• Maintaining accurate temp help budget records, timekeeping, and statistical data for the sector.

This position requires a valid California Class C Driver's license.
