Guiding Principles
This position reports directly to the agency Chief Administrative Officer. During an emergency, mass care and shelter services are frequently provided by local and state partners. You will be the state coordinator to plan, exercise, and coordinate the state response with these partners. You will also be the emergency contact for the department and work with Information Technology staff on disaster recovery. The selected candidate will perform the following job duties:
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Requires one (1) day in office per week to meet with supervisor. Some partner meetings, trainings, exercises, and response efforts are in-person (variable), generally in central Ohio. Remaining days may be remote.
Travel: Out of state and overnight travel is required a few times a year for regional and national training. Possible out of state and overnight travel associated with assisting other states in a disaster.
This position ( PN: 20101847) is unclassified, per Ohio Revised Code 124.11 (A)(9) and is deemed overtime exempt.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio's E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 14. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $35.74 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

You will be the state coordinator to plan, exercise, and coordinate the state response with these partners. You will also be the emergency contact for the department and work with Information Technology staff on disaster recovery. The selected candidate will perform the following job duties:
- Organize mass care (Emergency Support Function #6) stakeholder meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholder partners.
- Participate in other Emergency Support Function meetings.
- Participate in the State's Emergency Operations Center meetings and full-scale exercises 1-2 times per year.
- Provide Emergency Operations Plan reviews and after-action reviews.
- Monitor and update disaster response mission status.
- Represent Emergency Support Function #6 in meetings, planning and reporting.
- Lead the Ohio Emergency Repatriation Plan and the Volunteer Management Plan.
- Support the department's information technology disaster recovery efforts.
- Serve as a point of contact for the department on disaster planning and response activities.

- 5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.
- 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123 with the State of Ohio.
- Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration and 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
- Completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File and 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
- Ability to establish working relationships and collaborate with others.
- Respect for urgency.
- Strong communication skills and judgment.
- Experience with Emergency Management functions and practice.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments.
