Job Duties

To develop and implement quality assessments, programs and services that enhance public safety by providing inmates and supervisees the opportunity for positive change, by supporting the secure and safe operation of facilities and community corrections units, and by supporting effective reentry and reintegration.

Oversee the implementation and operation of evidence-based risk/needs assessments,
programs and services within facilities and community corrections sites to ensure that they are appropriate, operate according to professional standards, meet Department and legislative mandates, and that program resources are applied for the maximum benefit to inmates, supervisees, and the Department of Corrections.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of state and department requirements, especially that of DOC's evidence-based programs and counseling services and knowledge of their integration into the Department's strategic mission. Demonstrated experience managing staff, leading workgroups, and working successfully with various levels of staff in a large, complex organization. Experienced in the use and application of risk/needs assessments. Experience successfully planning, organizing, and monitoring a variety of programs. Ability to communicate effectively, provide consultation and direction across a wide range of disciplines. Experience overseeing curriculum development and providing training to field staff. Ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Able to synthesize complex research and interpret data to communicate information to staff. Skilled in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge and demonstrated proficiency of VACORIS applications, demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology/software applications to create and conduct virtual and in-person presentations, experience working in a criminal justice or human service setting, advanced knowledge of evidence-based correctional programming and core correctional practices.
