JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision of departmental leadership, the Sterile Processing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining inventory needed to perform production activities, as well as maintain adequate back-up and end-of-life replacement inventories of surgical instrumentation and implantable material needed to ensure set completion. Responsible for facilitating repairs/exchange of surgical instrumentation within all perioperative units. Works with OR Clinicians to build new trays, make changes to count sheets as additions/deletions. Responsible for obtaining quotes from vendors as requested for new instrumentation/equipment. Manage missing instruments generated from the instrument tracking system and working on the missing instrument cart daily. Responsible for managing the CIMS implant/daVinci system, ensuring that parts are maintained and minimum overstock of inventory. Supervisory role will be performed as needed. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Three (3) years in Sterile Processing environment. CRCST/CSBPD Certifications are required. CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist is required within 90 days. Approved certifications are through AST, NCCT, IAHCSMM or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CSBPD).
