Purpose at Ashley

The Store Manager role is crucial in cultivating a high-performing sales culture and strategically managing talent acquisition and development. They also act as the face of Ashley's Core & Growth Values, working towards creating a compelling brand image and establishing the store as the best destination for home furnishing needs. As a key component of the Company's retail success, the Store Manager leads by example while nurturing guest relationships and overseeing the hiring, training, and supervision of Sales Managers and other store personnel to ensure alignment with the Company's sales approach. They manage all operational aspects of the store, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures to provide an unparalleled in-store experience, with the goal of driving increased store sales, profitability, and customer loyalty through exemplary service and engagement.

What You'll Do
• Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, develop, and motivate a diverse team comprising Sales Managers, sales associates, cashiers, customer service representatives, and support staff.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment aimed at maximizing performance and minimizing turnover through effective leadership and team management strategies.
• Conduct performance reviews, offering ongoing coaching, and providing development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.
• Analyzing sales data to identify areas for improvement, motivating and coaching the store team to deliver exceptional customer service and close sales, establishing sales and profit goals, and ensuring alignment with company standards and selling strategies to maintain a high-performing sales culture.
• Utilize analytics and insights to capitalize on hidden opportunities and enhance selling performance while consistently adhering to company standards and selling principles with every guest interaction.
• Ensure smooth store operations by overseeing merchandising, inventory management, scheduling, and cash handling, optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand and minimize costs.
• Develop and oversee store budgets, ensuring efficient and responsible allocation of resources to support operational needs.
• Monitor key financial metrics and track progress against targets, providing regular reports on financial performance to management for informed decision-making.
• Maintain a clean, organized, visually appealing showroom environment while negotiating contracts and managing relationships with vendors and suppliers. Collaborate with the visual team to create enticing visual presentations and consistently uphold store maintenance standards.
• Foster a customer-centric culture throughout the store, empowering the team to efficiently resolve customer issues with empathy.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, tracking and analyzing feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance loyalty and repeat business.
• Complete any additional tasks as assigned by management.

What You Bring
• Associate degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience required
• 5 years' experience in retail sales required
• Supervisory/Management experience, required
• Strong business knowledge with basic financial acumen
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient mobile & computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet [KS1]
