Summary:

  • Distributes inventory and re-stocks all sterile and non-sterile disposable and surgical supplies. Maintains proper inventory levels in par locations to ensure the needs of the nursing units. Maintains inventory records through the use of the Material Management Procurement system with the use of a desk top and hand held devices. Works in the storeroom re-stocking shelves and maintaining a neat and safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory levels of assigned par location on a daily basis with use of electronic handheld devices.
  • Pull and deliver non stock requests on a daily basis.
  • Put stock away in an orderly fashion.
  • Always rotate inventory, removes outdated supplies prior to expiration date and credits accordingly.
  • Communicates with supervisor and staff any stocking trends or supply issues associated with inventory.
  • Maintains labels on shelving units as needed
  • Responsible for cleaning storeroom, par areas and trash removal as needed.
  • Cross trained for relief as receiver, courier, mailroom and print shop.
  • Uses time effectively to achieve established priorities.
  • Accepts changes in assignments in the spirit of good teamwork. Willing to provide assistance to other employees when needed.
  • Demonstrates creative thinking and problem solving skills. Accepts constructive feedback about performance or behavior.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for actions.
  • Demonstrates safe practices in the performance of assigned duties. Continually adheres to and is knowledgeable of all fire and safety regulations
  • Operates hospital vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

Credentials:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • And Previous inventory control experience preferred.
  • Good computer skills preferred.
